Just as the great Universal horror films of the '30s gave us the classic movie monsters we all know and love, the gory and sensationalistic horror films of the '80s offered up a whole new breed of cinematic sickos. And yes, you have your sarcastic, horribly scarred, mutant son-of-a-nuns and your evil, Rubix Cube dwelling pin heads, but for us here at the Buffet there is one character that stands severed head and shoulders above the rest: Jason Voorhees. Starting with the release of Friday The 13th in 1980, there have been an astounding 10 films over a 23 year span (11 if you include Freddy vs. Jason, which we will) ranging from the truly classic to the truly cheesy and we love them all, no matter which side of the coin they fall on. As we've seen each one, but in a jumbled order and over the course of many decades (all prior to the time when we had a B-movie themed website where we can write about whatever we want) we thought it would be fun to revisit the series as a whole, working our way through the sequels over the course of the rest of the year. So gather 'round the campfire and prepare to take a walk down a blood-stained memory lane as we declare 2006 to be Year Of The 13ths!
