Despite what VH1 would like you to believe, there is very little to love about the '80s. It's the decade that gave the world "Where's The Beef?", shoulder pads, and Milli Vanilli. On the other hand, it was the decade that produced the most movies featuring maniacal serial killers wielding pointy objects and stupid, nubile, stupidly nubile teenaged victims. So we can't completely write the whole ten years off. While it's detractors often point out it's pointlessness, misogyny and general crapulence - and we're not prepared to argue any of those points - we can't help but love this much maligned horror genre. Call them slasher films, splatter flicks or video nasties, here at the BMB we call them entertainment; and, thanks to a bunch of these films recently making their way to DVD, fodder for our ever expanding menu.
