Therefore our mission at the B-Movie Buffet is pretty easy to explain as well: people send us movies to review, we watch them, then we write about them. When the mood strikes we also write longer feature length articles about, or devote whole columns to, a particular subject or filmmaker in order to further highight their work. Hopefully in turn all this fuels the BMB reader, AKA you, to seek out these obscure cinematic gems; thus making them somewhat less obscure. Simple, right? We think so too. We update the site weekly; usually on Wednesday but we reserve the right to update on whatever day works best with our web mistress' schedule for any given week. Generally speaking, we will update once a week though. If you'd like to receive email notifications of said updates, may we suggest signing up for the BMB Yahoo Group? The newest additions to the menu can also be found on our homepage, for those who aren't the yahoo group joining type.
For those who care, here's a further bit of "behind the scenes" history: The B-Movie Buffet started off as a column (technically titled Bunny's B-Movie Buffet) on CrimsonAndCherry.com, a sassy, girly, pop culture-y webzine done by Bunny Fontaine (aka Leslie Goldman) and gal pal Virginia Eve Plum (aka Alex Richmond). When C&C went on a we-really-have-way-too-much-going-on-in-our-lives-right-now-to-update-this-site-every-week hiatus, the BMB moved into the printed world via one of Bunny's "other" projects, Carbon 14 Magazine. The steady flow of review materials, coupled with the constraints of the printed world (the mag only puts out two issues per year and and the column space allows for only about six movies per issue; you do the math),overwhelmed Ms. Fontaine a wee bit so she decided to plunk down the money to carve out a little webby niche for her Buffet, drop her name from the title, and recruit some like-minded friends & loved ones to help conquer the ever expanding review pile - resulting in the website you see before you. Bunny's B-Movie Buffet column will continue to run in c14; and who knows where the BMB may show up in the future. For now though, you can always find us at this url. Which brings us back to D'oh. Now, enough about us - let's watch some trashy films!
